Scott’s dedication to his craft is palpable through his classes, activities, and contributions to literary magazines. He involves himself in all aspects of publishing – on the editing side through Ashbelt Literary Journal and the publishing side through his latest works. Scott has delved deep in his prose poetry, and even branched out into micro fiction with an recent work published in August. Scott’s growing creative writing skills are also coupled with his heart for opportunities for others to experience the joy of writing and being published.

Scott is the reason I am now actively pursuing an MFA through UA. In every literature class we shared, he spoke highly of other students, giving them the courage to believe in their writing. He is always willing to edit, discuss, or participate in writing sessions. He speaks openly and honestly with writers, enabling them to see through their writing fog to the creative art hidden underneath. I hope always to have Scott in my corner as an editor and writing mentor, but also as a close friend. Without him, I’d still write in fragmented sentences.
